Leadership

Membership in the Leadership Program is by instructor invitation only. This group of Tiny Tigers, Juniors and Adults have been chosen as role models for the students at the ATA Black Belt Academy.

As a Junior, the student is elegible to wear the Red/White/Blue Junior Leader collar, and will be assigned responsibilities such as assisting at Belt Graduations, assisting with Tiny Tiger and Junior Classes.

As an Adult, the Leadership Team member begins as a Trainee Instructor or "Red Collar". As the trainee progresses, and as written and practical assignments, seminars, student teaching and testings are sucessfully completed, the trainee instructor will progress from "trainee" to "certified trainer" to "specialty certified". Once the specialty certified or "Black/Red/Black" collar is achieved, and after all other stringent physical, knowledge and training requirements are met (including 300 hours of teaching as a supervised trainee instructor), the Leadership Team member attends a 3 day intensive camp in preparation for final examination by the Masters of Songahm Taekwondo. Successful completion of this examination results in the Leadership Team member being promoted to "Certified Instructor", and being awarded the "Black Collar".

Leadership Team meets each week for instruction in teaching methods, interpersonal interaction, physical skills and a wide range of other leadership material. In addition, the Demo Team for the ATA Black Belt Academy is comprised of interested Leadership Team members, and meets Bi-weekly.
